driver coaching

Coaching can be one of the stickiest topics to bring up with any racing driver. But, as racers, we have to recognize that there will always be some room for skill and speed improvement, even for professionals, and coaching may well be the quickest, easiest, and least expensive way to move up the grid and finish order, no matter what car or class you compete in.

Blaise Csida is the person responsible for driver coaching at Gateway Racing Inc. He holds or has held numerous track records around North America, and has had the good fortune of learning his racing craft from some of the great names in modern auto racing, including Ron Fellows and Tommy Kendall.  Yet Blaise himself feels there is still much more to learn and tries to take advantage of every opportunity to expand his own track I.Q.  He also believes in (and already has the reputation in the paddock for) sharing his knowledge with those who genuinely want to improve their performance behind the wheel. As a respected chassis designer and builder of GT/Trans-Am cars, as well as from his wealth of experience as a professional mechanic for Brian Stewart Indy Lights Team, Blaise is in a unique position to help get the most out of both your seat time and your car set-up.

Driver coaching at Gateway Racing Inc. brings together a theoretical understanding of driving principles with basic and advanced car control techniques using on-track observation and feedback,  but also includes GPS based telemetry evaluation and in-car video reviews.  Rates are very reasonable, especially for this level of one-on-one coaching, starting at $500 per day.

If your race car doesn’t have a passenger seat, we can rent you one of Gateway’s cars that does, and/or follow each other around. If you don’t have telemetry or video capability, we can rent and install a system on the spot. Whether you are an experienced driver or just starting out, we can tailor a go-faster program just for you.
