There are many reasons to consider renting
a race car vs. owning one; here are a few:
- you are too busy, just want to arrive and drive without the headache of storage, transportation, or preparation
- you drive a few times a year. It is financially cheaper to rent. The cost of a truck, trailer, storage, insurance, yearly DOT, etc. often exceeds the cost of many weekends’ worth of rental driving.
- you are getting your feet wet and want to drive not invest
- your favorite car is not going to be ready
- you want to maximize your track time with a second car
- your race car is not eligible for a particular series
- you want to drive different race cars, often much faster than yours
